A Bicolana Cadet: From Zero to Hero

Every success story has its twists and turns, I have experienced a pretty Maalala-Mo-Kaya-like level. My story began in December 1996 when I became the first-born to first-time parents German Meliton and Maria Magdalena Loreto. Since this is my story, let me walk you through the road I chose to take, the problems I have overcome, and the ending of a new beginning.

I am P/CDT Gerlyn Mae Loreto Meliton, born and raised in the third-class municipality of Bombon, Camarines Sur. It has always been my dream to become a law enforcer.

"Leadership is not about a title or a designation. It is about impact, influence and inspiration"
-Robin S Sharma

Super Sixteen

“I was born to become the breadwinner…” due to the issue of unequal job opportunities for her parents, the young and sweet 16 years old Gerlyn Mae Loreto Meliton took the weight of responsibility to provide for her family.

Sharing her life experiences, she had to work and learn simultaneously as a lemon vendor and helper. Her dedication to helping her family has flourished, making her sister a graduating student of nursing—the fruit she ought to sacrifice.

Devotion over Obligation

Keeping one’s faith is the essential spiritual factor fostering one’s character. No physical strength could ever equate to our devotion to the Lord. God has granted a prayer I once kneeled in the Cathedral Church, Naga City.

With this profound faith and trust in the Almighty, we can carry out our mission to become the officers we have devoted ourselves to become.

Believe and Achieve

Strive harder and achieve more—the road of pain, suffering, tears, and hardships. Despite the Latin honors, the hearts’ victory lies in the mission of leadership.

The measurement of success is vested in the people you have influenced,

not in the trophies you have made.

Regimental Cadet Officer

A single step in the Cadet corps is a step of every collected dream. As one of the members of the Regimental Commander and Staff, it is challenging to maintain the best community of the CCPNP.

Corps Commander

Her voice speaks courage. The torch to lead one’s command is a passion you must go through. In the precipice, she stands, where her hands pull the stars. Aiming for victory, a commander’s bravery.
