Noble. (adj) possessing outstanding qualities (2). Just as his last name suggests, the current Director of the Philippine National Police Academy (D,PNPA) lives a noble and notable one.

The Director is a graduate of multiple degrees with Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Law. His educational background strengthened his knowledge in leading and managing the Academy.

As a police officer, he is multi-awarded and seen as noble and an ideal cop. The Metrobank Foundation awarded him in 2009 as one of the Awards for Continuing Service and Excellence (ACES) for his consistent exemplary performance(3).

The Chief of the Philippine National Police, PGEN RODOLFO SANTOS AZURIN JR, donned the second “star” upon the Director of the Philippine National Police Academy, along with fellow promoter PBGEN CHRISTOPHER C BIRUNG, Chief of Staff and Commandant of Cadets, PBGEN JAYSEN C DE GUZMAN last December 13, 2022, at the Multi-Purpose Center of the National Headquarters. PMGEN ERIC ESCOSIO NOBLE troops the line with yours genuinely, P/CDT Gerlyn Mae L Meliton, as the Battalion Commander of the arrival troops the following day after donning ranks on Friday, December 14, 2023. The arrival of honors consisted of all female cadets in battalion formation. With great pride and integrity, I rendered the first salute to the newly promoted Major General.

PMGEN NOBLE is a proud member of the illustrious Philippine Military Academy TANGLAW-DIWA Class of 1992. In his more than three decades serving the PNP, his service reputation best speaks that of a man of public service. Before entering the Academy, he was the Executive Officer of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) in 2020 before being designated as the Director of the Police Community Affairs and Development Group.

He performed stellar work in the PNP. He received various awards and recognition, such as the Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod, Best Senior PCO for Administration, and Presidential Lingkod ng Bayan Awardee by the Civil Service Commission in 2009. An Alumnus of the prestigious Metrobank Foundation, Inc.’s Top Outstanding Policeman in the Service. He was also awarded the Medal of Heroism back when he was still with the 44th Mobile Force Company for the successful negotiation and return to the folds of the law of 18 MILF members led by Kumander Mamayandug Digma.

He received hundreds of awards, medals, and recognitions in his prolific career as he entered the Academy with a star on his shoulder. Since he became the highest mammal in this prestigious institution, the branding about change and order echoed across the four corners of the Academy. Character development is the most crucial element in the Academy. However, due to incorrect indoctrination and malpractices in instilling discipline, it is jeopardized, also known as maltreatment or hazing. People violate to instill discipline when there are many other ways to do so without resorting to hazing and abuse. In this light, the Director’s prominent anti-hazing campaign and War Against Hazing & Guard Against Maltreatment (WAHGAM) responded to the abuse inside the Academy.

I can seldom see the preceding directors outside the shadow of the Academy’s administrative building, but he is different. The Director is unglazed with humbleness and compassion. You can never imagine a high-ranking official roaming around the Academy almost daily with no bodyguards or companions until you come across him wearing a plain white shirt, shorts, rubber shoes, and a sweet smile while interacting with the Cadets and personnel of the Academy. Indeed, his background and proficiency in police-community relations were incredibly evident in his performance of duty in the Academy. Although the weight on his shoulder became a little bit heavier now due to an additional star, he remained the down-to-earth father of the Academy.

PMGEN ERIC ESCOSIO NOBLE is indeed a man of distinction, a public servant, and a great leader to his fellow. Now entrusted with steering the country’s premier police higher education as its 31st Director of the Philippine National Police Academy, he has more to offer out of his love for God, government, and people.
