“Values are like lighthouses; they are signals giving us direction, meaning and purpose” -Recruiter Journal

Value formation results from the interaction between our unique cultural context and personal experiences. Values are ingrained in us and strengthened by culture and experiences throughout life. One’s values give direction to where life will bring us. If you have strong values formation, you are more likely to succeed in life. Values are important tools for one to survive their life journey.

When I was a child, my parents instilled in me the importance of kindness and continued to do so throughout the years. I have always been generous and concerned about caring for others because my family raised me with good values.

In connection with Executive Order No. 319 with title: INSTITUTIONALIZING THE MORAL RECOVERY PROGRAM (MRP) IN ALL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS, OFFICES, AGENCIES AND GOVERNMENT-OWNED AND CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS THROUGH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF INTEGRITY CIRCLES (1).

One issue among the youth today is their alleged drive to break rules in order to have fun and enjoy with the crowd. Many of the older generations admit that even them cannot stand how the younger generation act today. To combat this issue and help the younger generation form the necessary values for their future, I, together with the help and support of the Legazpi City Police Station, conducted a Moral Recovery Program for the students of Cabangan Elementary School.

At 9:30 AM, with the personnel from Police Community Relation, Legazpi City Police Station, headed by PLTCOL DENNIS B BALLA, Chief of Police, we started the conduct of the Moral Recovery Program for students from Cabangan Elementary School. Fortunately, the students were very supportive and participative which made it easier for the event to be successful.

The program’s aim is to mobilize Filipinos for nation-building by applying human values in our daily lives as citizens. Also, the Moral Recovery Program wants students to know the importance of values in accomplishing our personal and societal objectives. In the afternoon, I supervised the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo (KKDAT) Campaign and Cadet Information Drive. An advocacy campaign to gather support groups and force multipliers to youth from Cabangan National High School to join the KKDAT. There were more than 600 attendees. I gave my short encouraging remarks, most of which likewise signified joining the Philippine National Police Academy. I had many realizations today. It feels like Deja Vu to talk to Cabangan National High School students about my cadetship journey and encourage them never to doubt themselves whenever they want something. Always seek improvement and challenge yourself to surpass life’s atrocities.

Today’s Wrap Up: Values should not be taken for granted. As we grow older, education and experience should also make us better and wiser. Always strive to be happy as stated in Desiderata by
